Best Time to Visit Haridwar
Haridwar can be visited year-round, but the best experience depends on what you want. Here's a month-by-month breakdown to help you plan the perfect trip.
Winter (Oct – Feb)
The best time to visit Haridwar. Cool, clear weather with minimal rain. Ideal for outdoor sightseeing, temple visits, and Ganga Aarti. Makar Sankranti in January draws millions of pilgrims.
Spring (Mar – Jun)
March–April is pleasant and great for sightseeing. May–June gets very hot (up to 40°C) but it's the start of the Char Dham Yatra season, making Haridwar very busy. Rajaji National Park is still open.
Monsoon (Jul – Sep)
Heavy rainfall with risk of Ganga flooding and landslides in the hills. The Char Dham Yatra is suspended. Rajaji National Park is closed (July–Nov 15). The city is humid and tourism slows significantly.
