Haridwar 1-Day Itinerary
Make the most of one day in Haridwar. This itinerary covers the holy ghat, Mansa Devi temple, Shantikunj, the market, and the legendary evening Ganga Aarti — all in one perfect day.
Start your day with the morning Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. The sunrise over the Ganga is serene and beautiful. Take a holy dip if you wish.
Try poha, kachori, or aloo puri at the dhabas near the ghat. The chai here is excellent. Budget: ₹50–100.
Head to the Mansa Devi ropeway base station (~2 km, auto ₹30). Take the cable car up for panoramic views. Visit the temple and tie a thread for your wish.
Wander the bazaar around Har Ki Pauri. Pick up rudraksha beads, religious items, local sweets (khoya jalebi, petha), and Ganga jal containers.
Famous pure vegetarian restaurants near Har Ki Pauri. Try thali (₹150–250) or dal makhani. The food is delicious and filling.
Auto to Shantikunj (~3 km, ₹50). Walk through the peaceful Gayatri Pariwar campus. Attend a brief prayer or yagya session if timing allows.
Head back to your hotel. Rest and freshen up before the main event of the day — the evening Ganga Aarti.
The highlight of any Haridwar visit. Arrive 30 minutes early for a good spot. Watch hundreds of priests perform the synchronized fire ritual. Release a deepam on the Ganga.
Enjoy a relaxed vegetarian dinner. If day tripping from Delhi, head to the station for the overnight train. Or stay the night and continue exploring tomorrow.
