About Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park was established in 1983 and named after C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji), the last Governor-General of India. It spans the districts of Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand. In 2015, it was designated a Tiger Reserve under Project Tiger.
The park is especially famous for its large elephant population β it has one of the highest densities of wild Asian elephants in India. The landscape ranges from dense sal and mixed forests to grasslands and river valleys, making it rich in biodiversity.
